I am frustrated with Adobe Acrobat Reader because it takes literally almost a minute just to LAUNCH. PUKE!!
 

I noticed the same thing and it really pisses me off. I will be reading something and it has a hyper link to a pdf and the file takes forever to load and I can't do anything else. So, good post.
 

There are all kinds of hacks you can get, I think one is called Adobe Speed Loader. What they do is remove most of the plugins that launch at the start that absolutely nobody uses, which causes the slow loading time.
