Mac Mini

And so it begins - The Mac mini, based around the concept of the iPod mini, and the Apple Retail Store mini.

Jobs says it very tiny. If it is REALLY small, this concept might actually work! I hadn't thought about SMALL! Talk about differentiation!

UPDATE:
Here's some specs on the Mac mini (courtesy of MacDailyNews.com):

Crazy. You're crazy! Thanks for the play-by-plays. I like when you filter out all the big words and techno-geek babble for me and just write what's going on. I know you don't do this for me on your blog, but it seems that by breaking it apart, I can get a good sense of what's going on. Thanks. Even if you don't mean it.

The moment I heard of the release of these lovely little devices I immediately came running to this site, because Joel is bound to have something to say.

I'd buy a Mac mini just for Garage Band. 620 bucks Canadian! It makes me dance! If I only had a grownup job. Maybe tomorrow I'll return all my textbooks :D.

I'm totally ordering an iBook and iPod shuffle as soon as they start shipping iLife '05 on the iBooks.

I just love Garageband from iLife '04, but wish it had multitrack recording. oh look! it does now! grrrr.

how much is a Mac mini with the student discount? Apple's site is having the snot pounded out of it right now, and I'm supposed to be working.

I'm guessing at this but the base model (the $499 US model - $629 CAN) should sell for ~$566 CAN with the student discount.

I am totally stoked about multitracked GarageBand as well.

I'm also really stoked about High Def iMovie (holy cow! - some "consumer" product, eh?)

Incidentally, this was the first MacWorld keynote speech to ever be projected in High Def. I love Keynote!
